Pet Brushes!

Its pretty late that I'm writing this blog but I just found something amazing and had to share right away! I have pets. A Kitty and a Doggy. Both inside 24/7. So naturally everything I own is covered in pet hair! But whats the worst is pillows, the couch, and my carpet! I looked down the other day when I had time to just breathe (I'm pretty busy) and noticed balls of fur on my carpet.

So I grabbed the vacuum cleaner and tried to vacuum it away. That didn't work, it just moved it all around. So I jokingly picked up the pet brush and started brushing the ground (Yes I joke with myself when no ones around, don't judge). I was so amazed at what the brush picked up that I did my whole bedroom! It picked up my hair and cat hair. Here was my result, again don't judge.

Yes that's a full size magazine that it's sitting on. I was shocked. I had no idea that much fur was in my carpet. Then I did my couch, my pillows, even my computer chair. I'm sure I'm not the first one to realize you could do this with a pet brush but no one ever told me, so I thought I'd share! Just make sure your pet brush is the kind with metal bristles.

Have you tried this? No an even better way to get rid of pet fur? Let me know!

BLTEA ( BLT+Egg+Avocado) = Summer Brunch

So this recipe is well you know by the title so easy a 5 year old could make it. But I wouldn't recommend a 5 year old using a knife! parental supervision is a must! And my little brothers just love this dish (manly because there's bacon on it! But you can put whatever your kids like on this sandwich! This recipe comes from Miss Paula Deen herself and is surprisingly healthy for her. I linked the recipe here since mines a tad different. Now I don't follow the recipe exactly as nobody has to because that's the great thing about recipes, you make them your own.

My own version:

4 slices bacon

2 tablespoons butter, room temperature

4 slices wheat bread, toasted

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 large eggs

4 slices tomato

1/2 avocado, peeled, pitted, and sliced

The directions can be found here. Now here's a little healthy tip. Instead of frying the egg scramble it or "fake fry" it. To fake fry you put 2 eggs in a bowl whisk it like you were going to scramble them but put a damp paper towel over the bowl and zap it in the microwave for a minute and it will look fried and taste fried but its not!

Please let you know what you think of the sandwich!

Homeade Translucent Powder

You can buy the very popular Translucent Powder anywhere from MAC (my favorite) or BareEssentials, OR for about .05 cents worth of ingredients that you probably already have in your cupboards right now, you can make your own! I know I'm shocked as well! I found this on chiselbeauty.com

I’m personally pretty excited about this because I have always used some type of translucent powder and the prices can be ridiculous! But it really does put the “finishing” touch” on your whole makeup application…so I’ve always “bit the bullet” and “paid the price for beauty”.

Some of the other benefits of using a “finishing” powder include:

-Minimizes pores and fine lines.

-Absorbs oils to keep your skin looking fresh and clean

-Prolongs wear of Foundation.

-Can also be worn on bare skin for a fresh, feather-light finish

-Works beautifully for all skin tones and types

Here is her recipe/formula:

1/2 Tablespoon Cornstarch

1 Teaspoon Baby Powder (talc)

Optional: 1/8 Teaspoon Powder Foundation ( if you want to add a touch of color)

Stir all ingredients together and store in a used (and washed) powder container or a mint tin. Apply with powder brush.

1st Healthy Day

First day of eating healthy almost over. First day of no soda, dreadful. I'm not going to lie it was hard. I thought about soda every 2 seconds and had a brief moment of thinking to cheat. But I didn't. I prevailed. I had a fruit bowl for breakfast, celery and peanut butter for lunch and a smoothie for breakfast. I did have a headache all day from not having a soda. Hopefully today was the hardest day because I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow.

I'll keep yall informed! Let me know if your eating healthy too and tips!! For now here is something to keep you up all night with your credit card out. Tobi. Tobi is an online store full of fashionable clothes at a cheapish price. but the clothes look expensive! I'm not lying I buy my entire wardrobe off this site! Check it out (:

Getting Healthy

So I decided to get healthy for summer like most of us. I am an avid lover of processed foods. Goldfish, Skittles, Dr.Pepper, and everything else bad but so good. But I figured if I eat healthy for at least 21 days (and yes give up my lover Dr.pepper and all soft drinks) that maybe just maybe it will stick. So I decided to start tomorrow. I know what your thinking, "You're procrastinating!", "Just start now Magen!". Well I would if I had the idea before I started the day off with a Swiss Cake Roll and a Dr.Pepper. Plus I needed to go shopping for healthy food since my pantry is full of junk. This is what I got:

Celery Stalk - .99 Cents

Organic Carrots - $1.99

Organic Strawberries - $2.99

2 small Gala Apples - .80 Cents

2 Bell Peppers (orange and yellow) - $3.78

Half a Seedless Watermelon .99 Cents

Jiff to-go - $2.59

Lightly Salted Peanuts - $1.99

Bolthouse 100% Natural 50/50 Juice - $3.50

Now all together all those snacks for 2 weeks was only $20.10! I thought healthy food was expensive but really junk food is more expensive. As long as you do like I did and don't buy things pre-chopped (they charge way more for something that doesn't take more than 8 minutes for you to do). Now I bought the peanut butter to dip the celery in. Do not dip these veggies in Ranch or your favorite dressing, eat them raw or add a little peanut butter. I bought slightly salted peanuts instead of unsalted just because im going to need a little something to get me to eat them!

The hardest part for me is to give up Soda's. I'm extremely addicted! Like 4 soda's a day kind of addicted. I HATE water, its gross to me unless I'm sweating. The website I read said to add natural things to your water to make it taste better. And no not those powdered drink mixes that make you think their healthy (Their not!). Now this Bolthouse juice is all natural gluten free and half veggie half fruit! I linked it above so you all can read about it. Its so yummy, and not in the healthy kind of yummy the real yummy! You add just a splash to your glass of water to give a little something extra.

Oh and I forgot to mention that you get one cheat day! Eat something you love even if its bad just so you don't lose your mind. Those are just snack items and I drink a smoothie for lunch and fish or baked chicken and rice for dinner. I will let you all know everything I'm feeling or every time I cheat! If you'd like to get healthy with me then email me or comment and let me know how your doing it or if you have any tips for people!

Glue On Nails

This Saturday I had a wedding to attend but didn't want to waste 25 bucks for a manicure when I had to spend gas money to get there (it was 2.5 hrs away+hotel money). So I opted for a cheap glue on set from CVS thinking it will start at six, it should get dark soon, and no one will notice my obviously fake nails. and I came across this cute set by Nailene that the tips were half zebra print half leopard print (2 prints in one?! It had me!) It was 6 dollars./

So I followed the directions and found the ones that fit my finger nails and when I was done I was astonished. They were cute! And they actually looked like I paid good money to have them done! I got so many compliments about them and just kept telling people they were fake cause I was amazed and so were they! Ive tried other brands but they either don't fit my nails or you can see my nail through them. Here's a picture of them on my nails and you tell me what you guys think!
